THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MEMPHIS HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR FREEZING RAIN…SLEET AND SNOW…WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST THIS MORNING. THE ICE STORM WARNING HAS BEEN CANCELLED. RAIN WILL CHANGE OVER TO A MIXTURE OF FREEZING RAIN…SLEET AND SNOW THIS MORNING ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA BEFORE ENDING BY MID MORNING. SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE LESS THAN ONE INCH WITH ICE ACCUMULATIONS UP TO ONE TENTH OF AN INCH. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW…SLEET…OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
