October 2025 Climate Report for Memphis, TN

October temperatures were above average by more than two degrees following a similarly warm September and following the pattern that dominated the central portion of the country. The month started with a 90-degree high on day 1 and ended with a low of 41 on Halloween morning, a spread of near 50 degrees over the course of the month. The first two and a half weeks featured daily temperatures above average (except on the 9th), mainly in the 80s. The remainder of the month, starting on the 19th, saw average temperatures below normal on all but a couple days with highs generally in the 60s and 70s.

Precipitation ended a couple of inches above average for the month, though much of that fell in the final week of the month. A heavy rain event on the 6th-7th was followed by a long dry spell before a mid-month front that brought only light amounts of rain. A cooler and wetter pattern in the final week of October brought almost two-thirds of the precipitation for the month. There was no severe weather during the month; only one Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for eastern Fayette County on the 18th. Minor flooding was observed on the 6th in northern Crittenden County, AR.
