June 2026 Climate Report for Memphis, TN

Temperatures averaged very near normal for the month of June, ending just a touch below the average of 79.9 degrees. High temperatures about 2 degrees above normal were offset by cooler than average nights, which were almost two degrees below normal. Memphis also saw very little variation in daily temperatures, as the majority of days during the month were within four degrees of normal. Highs were generally in the 80s, reaching 90 degrees on only eight days, while lows were generally in the upper 60s to mid 70s.

While temperatures were fairly uniform throughout the month, the same cannot be said for precipitation. While measurable rainfall only occurred on one out of every 5 days, when it fell, it was heavy. Three days at the airport featured over an inch of rain, ending about an inch and a half above normal. Other places in the greater metro saw much more though. The reporting station in Bartlett received nearly 11 inches of rain for the month, with one day (the 22nd) recording well over four inches of rain from two heavy storms.

There were a couple of severe thunderstorm events that resulted in sporadic tree damage on the 1st and 13th, while flooding reports were more widespread, particularly on the 22nd. Drought was fairly well alleviated across most of the metro by the end of the month.
